Inbox team go to the lakes for away-day
|
Inbox had their quarterly office jaunt on a fine August day and we headed down to the great Wiltshire lakes for a day of water skiing.

It was almost like watching the X-treme TV channel as each elite team member took to the task like a cat to water. Whether it was on two skis or on a wakeboard, 95% of the beginners got up behind the boat with imperious ease, amidst grimaced faces and whooping cheerleaders. The two who couldn’t manage it need to have a seriously long look at themselves.

There were some heroic performances all round, some tremendous face-planting wipeouts and a few show-offs, which nobody likes.

Once the skiing had finished, the banana boat was attached to its steed and Inbox proved that while they may be rather good at digital marketing, balance is something that they’re not so hot on. Eddie the Eagle would have lasted longer than most of the chumps bouncing on the 20 foot yellow inflatable banana.

And as the sun set behind the Propane gas tank, the BBQ was fired up and we all sat down to a vaguely well-earned nosh-up. Bangers, burgers, chook and a lightly-garnished salad were washed down with cooking lager, some warm Pimms.

Once the food had kindly been cleared away (by the Hepp), we sat around talking the talk, checking out our crayfish-induced nipple clamp wounds and generally enjoying a day away from the hurly-burly of our highly-pressured and important jobs.

The inflatable dentist’s chair showed that peer pressure is still the most potent of weapons and most of the team covered themselves in glory. And cheap German wine from a plastic box.

All in all, it was a great day, one of the best, and with our constantly high morale topped up for the run-in to Christmas, we can look back on some happy, sunny memories.
